Composite Image

For this project, we created composite images. This was done by taking two photographs, editing them separately, then combining them in Adobe Photoshop.  The trick was editing the images together so the final image didn’t look Photoshopped. In order to achieve this, I had to take the image of the girl and break it down into 3 different layers; one layer with just the girl, another layer with just the books, and the last layer with just the lights. After I had each of the layers in the right spot, I compiled them into 1 layer. Then I duplicated the image of the jar. By changed the jar’s mode to ‘screen’, and putting it above the layers, I was able to get the glass reflections over the subject, making it look as if she was inside the jar.
